May is the month when we celebrate music from New Zealand and the people who make it.
It is a 31-day celebration of homegrown talent across the length and breadth of the country.
Samoan Language Week – 26th May – 1st June
Samoan Language Week is an annual event that celebrates the culture and language of Samoa, a Polynesian island. In 2024, Samoan Language Week starts on May 26th and finishes on June 1st.
With a population of nearly 200,000 people and thousands of people of Samoan descent living in New Zealand – the existence of Samoan Language Week holds great importance and significance to native populations. It is celebrated through language, song, dance, cultural displays, and community events.
