July 2024 Newsletter From The Vines – Welcome to Term 3!!

We hope you had a nice break from the school routine.

Time is flying by and we are in the depths of winter, so it’s time to get reacquainted with our Child Illness Policy.

If your child is unwell they may be at risk of infecting other children, teachers, and adults. Therefore, we ask that you keep your child home until they are well and advise us of your child’s illness.

Any child who has experienced vomiting or diarrhoea will be excluded for 48 hours from that last episode. If you are contacted to collect your child who has become unwell, we ask that this is done as quickly as possible.

Any prescribed medication for your child is to be handed to the head teacher. This is to be documented and signed consent by you is required. Also as per our infectious diseases policy, we require a medical certificate from a health professional before allowing the child to return.

You may have noticed some new faces around the centre. Please welcome Justine, Jan and Leah P to our reliever team.

As we are all aware the cost of everything we do has increased, and we have not been immune to such rises. We are now in the unfortunate position that we must implement a small daily increase in our Parent Fees. We are doing this to ensure we can continue to provide a quality service with good teacher-to-child ratios. The team will communicate with you all directly this week via email as to what impact this will have on your family. The increase will come into effect from the 5th of August 2024.

Playball at our Henderson daycare

The Vines is introducing a Playball programme for 3 to 5-year-olds to learn ball skills through fun games.

The aim of Playball is to introduce young children to constructive and enjoyable sport participation through various age-appropriate programmes.

All of the programmes have a “multi-activity” approach, ensuring a competent foundation in all the popular sports played at school.

Move It Thursdays

Every Thursday, our little ones get running, jumping and grinning. The entire Vines team looks forward to it. We so enjoy watching our tamariki discover and develop a joy in sports. If you would like to enrol your child or have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us. We’re here to make your little one’s time with us at The Vines as enjoyable and enriching as we can. Get more information about Playball.
